Take Off To Alberta, Canada

Take off to the Great White North! Our first journey takes us 1,629 miles north and across the U.S./Canadian border. Our cultural guide is David Moore. Moore was born and raised in Alberta, Canada, a land better known to Americans as the Great White North. The journey was fairly short, and the cultural differences are few at first glance.
Moore likes spaghetti and ice cream, and dreams of eating really good bread and cheese in Italy. While young, he wanted to be an astronomer. Now, he is a BYU student with an eye toward becoming a family doctor.
His views on the role of government are somewhat broader than Vandruff’s:
-         Law enforcement
-         Guarantee basic rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness
-         Ensure the basic well-being of citizens
Although he admits that the system has some flaws, Moore approves of government healthcare and enjoys the diversity and (as an Arizona native, I gasp) climate of Western Canada.
Moore places top emphasis on his religious identity, and, like Vandruff, family. But he left Alberta to pursue an education. For education, he asked, “Which sacrifices will you not make?” Oh, and he does like hockey.

  1. I've been to Canada a few times, but would like to see more of the open spaces someday. I'm interested to see where you take us next.

  2. Really? Where did you go in Canada? The closest I have ever been is Montana. I am trying to post in a somewhat geographical order, but after this next one it will probably bounce around a little more.
